Long story short:

1. People tend to do what they did yesterday.
2. Gen AI is developing at an incredible rate
3. This combination is not perfect … đŸ˜±.

Example from this week:

1. I met a partner from McKinsey & Company. We were talking about GenAI and we were both fascinated and a bit scared by the implications this will have on our society.
2. The next meeting was with a company director. I asked him, “What are you doing with AI…” His answer came quickly: “nothing”. I looked at him to see if he was joking … He was not.
3. We see in various surveys that there are still many business leaders who don’t engage with this new revolutionary technology.

In my view, we risk an even greater difference between winners and losers. The companies with leaders who continue to do what they did yesterday will one day ask “what happened…”. In my opinion, this is a CEO issue to ensure that the company is ready to enter this new world. A CEO of 2024 needs to spend a lot of time and energy exploring the opportunities that lie ahead.

I am convinced that there is a lot of energy and competence in all companies willing to explore this new world of opportunities. But the CEO has to set the tone!
