Right now, an exciting convergence between IT and operations is underway. Something that I truly appreciate!

I always push for major transformation projects to be driven from a holistic perspective. That they are prioritised based on what is best for the company. That decision-makers with sufficient oversight ensure that the decision is the right one, based on a comprehensive assessment.

Let me quote from an excellent article from McKinsey & Company:

“The key is to shift away from a tech transformation and toward a tech-enabled businesswide transformation. This approach ensures long-term growth and change because it considers all stakeholder perspectives, works within budget limitations, and brings in expert input from technology teams.”

This will have interesting effects on those who currently operate as IT versus management consultants.

How do you think this will change the demand for external consultants?
